Is the nearest football academy the right fit? A schedule guide
A nearby address helps, but the whole weekly journey determines whether attendance is sustainable.
Test the journey at training time
Check traffic, arrival and collection points rather than map distance alone. Include the return trip, schoolwork and other family commitments. Even an attractive programme is difficult to sustain when every visit is exhausting.
Compare two workable options
Record door-to-door time, session days, the plan for schedule changes and whether a guardian can attend. Ask your child how much time they want to commit. Choose a routine you can maintain for several weeks, and review it if circumstances change.
A practical example
A route may look easy at midday but take longer at the actual evening training time. One test journey at the right hour can change the comparison. Include the wait for another child or the journey from a parent’s workplace too.
- Time both journeys
- Ask how schedule changes are handled
- Leave room for school and rest
