Questions to ask before a football academy trial session
A trial session helps you understand the environment; it is not a final verdict on a child’s talent.
Before you arrive
Ask whether parents can observe, what clothing is needed, who welcomes the child and how long the session lasts. Confirm the specific branch and travel time at the actual session hour. Do not send sensitive details simply to arrange an introductory visit.
During and after the session
Notice whether instructions are clear and how the coach responds to beginners and mistakes. Ask about group size and how progress is shared with parents. Afterwards, ask your child what they enjoyed or disliked without turning one session into a high-pressure assessment.
A practical example
A child may be hesitant for ten minutes and join in once the activity becomes clear. Do not judge only by the opening minutes. Note one question for the coach about welcoming newcomers and one for your child about when they felt more comfortable.

General educational guidance, not a child assessment, endorsement of a particular academy or promise of an outcome. Confirm current details directly with the relevant organisation and seek qualified help for health, legal or child-safety matters.
