What information should you share about your child before enrolment?
Share only what the current step needs, and ask how a child’s information will be used.
Separate enquiries from enrolment
An initial enquiry may need an approximate age and a guardian contact method, not a full child profile. Before sending photos, health details or documents, ask why they are needed, who can see them and how long they are retained. Use the academy’s official channels.
Review photography and access
Request a clear photography and publication policy, guardian-consent process, and explanation of who can see assessments and notes. Keep a copy of permissions and ask how to correct data or withdraw consent where applicable. Seek qualified advice for legal or sensitive cases.
A practical example
For an introductory trial enquiry, an age range may be enough without sending a passport image or medical report. At actual enrolment, ask what information is required, why it is needed and who will see it.
- Do not send documents in an initial enquiry
- Ask for the photo policy
- Keep a copy of permissions
General educational guidance, not a child assessment, endorsement of a particular academy or promise of an outcome. Confirm current details directly with the relevant organisation and seek qualified help for health, legal or child-safety matters.
