Before sharing your child's information with an academy: what should you ask?
Practical questions to understand why information is collected and who can see it, without offering a legal interpretation.
Distinguish browsing from registering
At first, you may only want to learn where the academy is and what programmes it offers. Start with public information, then ask what the organization needs when you decide to make contact or register. Do not let comparison become a reason to send documents or details whose purpose you do not know.
When a field or document is requested, ask why it is needed and whether it is necessary for this particular step. This is a way to understand the process, not a judgment about whether a specific request is lawful.
Ask about people and use
- What is the purpose of collecting this information?
- Who can see it within the academy?
- Will it be public or remain within the account?
- Will it be shared with another party, and for what purpose?
- How do I request correction of information or review a previous consent?
- Who do I contact if I have a privacy concern?
Review photography and publishing separately
Ask how photography consent is requested and about the difference between using an image within the activity and publishing it for the public. Ask for the available choices rather than assuming that registration consent covers every use.
Also pay attention to what you publish about your child. Comparing academies does not require posting identity documents, daily location or health details in a public comment. Discuss any special need through an appropriate channel with the relevant people.
Read the policy and keep a contact channel
Keep the privacy-policy link and a way to contact the organization. Procedures vary by service and context, and this article does not explain a particular organization's obligations or decide legal rights in a specific case.
For legal matters, consult official texts and the relevant authority or a qualified adviser. For questions about KoraHub360, use its privacy page and published contact channel.
